A Christmas sweater that arrives in December has missed its selling season. Retailers put holiday stock on shelves weeks before the holiday, and online sellers need time for photography and listing before that.
Working backward from the shelf date, here is where the time goes on a typical holiday order:
- Inquiry and quotation. You send styles, quantities, and colors. This stage depends on how fast details are confirmed.
- Sampling. 7 days at our factory. Add shipping time for the sample to reach you.
- Sample confirmation. Depends on your review time. Design changes add another sampling round.
- Bulk production. 30 to 45 days after sample approval and the 30% deposit.
- Inspection. Piece-by-piece inspection plus a final random inspection to AQL 2.5 before shipment.
- Sea freight and customs. We ship FOB Shanghai or Ningbo; transit time depends on your market.
- Inbound to your warehouse and out to stores. Your own logistics time.
Stages 2 through 6 already take most of the 6 months. Orders placed later than that need air freight or accept a shorter selling window.
Our holiday orders open 6 months before the holiday. For Christmas styles, orders open June 1 and close August 25, and goods leave the factory by October 10. For Halloween styles, orders open May 1 and close June 30. A pet retail chain in the United States has ordered private-label Christmas sweaters from us on this schedule every year since 2019.
Our Holiday Order Calendar lists the dates for each holiday.
