Pet Size & Fit Guide

Pet clothing sized down from human patterns fits poorly and comes back as returns. We draft our own patterns from pet body measurements. This page explains how our sizing works and how to measure a pet.

Our Pattern System

We keep 12 base patterns for different pet body types. This includes dedicated patterns for dachshunds, French bulldogs, and greyhounds, whose bodies do not fit standard proportions.

Dog styles come in five sizes, XS to XL. Cat styles come in four sizes, XS to L, and use the same size table. Each size is tried on real dogs and cats before bulk production.

How to Measure a Pet

Measure the pet standing up. Use a soft tape measure.

  • Chest girth Measure around the widest part of the chest, behind the front legs.
  • Back length Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
  • Neck girth Measure around the neck where a collar sits.

Choose the size by chest girth first. If the pet is between sizes, contact us with the measurements and the breed, and we will recommend a size.

Special Body Types

  • Dachshunds have a long back and a deep chest. Our dachshund pattern adds back length without widening the chest.
  • French bulldogs have a broad chest and a short back. Our French bulldog pattern widens the chest without adding length.
  • Greyhounds have a deep chest and a narrow waist. Our greyhound pattern follows this shape.
